DC Final Naked In The Bronx
I decided for the last round of this competition to work with the line work of my sketch and see how it would look abstracted and distressed similar to the background painting. To achieve this goal I first played with color adjustments and brightened the image using auto correction tools. After making those adjustments I went into image liquify to see what the outcome would be. I liked the effect, it reminded me very much of Picasso and wanted to take it further, although I thought that would take away from the overall theme of the contest.
In the image shown below I changed it to grey scale and worked with contrast to a less vibrant image. After that I went into variations in Photoshop and chose the image saturated with Magenta.
I think the adjustments shown below change the overall feel and context of the image. For me it now almost looks skeletal and conveys feelings of despair and almost death. Interesting how working with color and texture can completely change the potential theme of an image.
